  Paula is the owner of the shop and although she used to run a little, this has taken a back seat since buying the business a year ago. She is the one with the mad marketing ideas and the one that keeps everyone on their toes! This means sometimes the rest of the staff think she is great (Christmas bonus and Outing) and sometimes the staff won't comment (changing the store around 3 times in a week) ...  Jeff is our Stock Control Manager... Control being the operative word. Jeff is the person to blame if there is something amiss with the stock system or goods receivable or indeed anything else we can think of. He is older than some of the other staff but has a youthful mind and approach to his beloved work. He has said that he will start going to the gym again soon and we do really believe him... He is a keen mountain biker and he can also run when required. (Picture Coming soon!!!) This is Andy ... He is 20 years old and despite his youth, he is very knowledgeable about the 'Great Outdoors' having mis-spent much of his time working for a national outdoor and camping retailer! He has worked at explore outdoor! as a general sales assistant since October 2007 and it feels like he has been with us forever. His main interests are camping and climbing, although he has been known to travel to work on his bike and when necessary he can run!! Andy is one of the Three Muskateers seen in the picture below, exploring outdoors!  This fine figure of a youth is Tom. Tom works at explore outdoor! fulltime, having started with us as a Saturday Boy!... He is 17 years old and has recently completed a dual-athlon, as seen in the picture below. Tom is also a keen Thai Boxer. Climbing, Swimming and Running also feature in his repertoire.  This is Emma, Saturday and mid-week worker... She is the photographer amongst us and can be found regularly taking photos of the shop and staff. Emma has lots of experience on the running side of things as he dad used to manage a specialist running shop and she helped out at weekends. (Picture Coming soon!!!) This is Chris, who works on a Saturday. Chris is our Rugby specialist and a keen member of a local Rugby club. He is also our athletic specialist. Chris can be seen in blue, below! He loves his straighteners more than most things.  Richard is our Saturday/mid-week sales person. He is a very keen climber and has a tendencey to drag the others into expeditions at weekends. Here he is contemplating Striding Edge, Helvellyn...  Heather works part-time and has worked at the shop for over 30 years. She has seen many changes. She is a keen walker herself and has spent lots of time walking in the Lake District. As a result she can give firsthand experience with Walking Boots, Jackets and Trousers. She is our resident Paramo expert! (Picture Coming soon!!!) |
